Bar Council of India introduces age bar for admission in law colleges |

The Bar Council of India, the primary body which regulates the legal education sector in India has introduced age bar for admission into law colleges in India. As per the new rule, students applying for the 5 years integrated law course will not be eligible if above the age of 20 and students applying for the 3 year law course will not be eligible if above the age of 30. However, SC/ST and OBC students are eligible till they reach the age of 22 and three-year course till the age of 35. This new rule has created havoc among the legal community, students and teachers likewise.

my name is nagesh i passed out my 3yrs law degree from bangalore university. i got admition 2006 and i passedout december 2009. did i take barcouncilof india exam. please send me details.
It is very much required decision to restrict the age for admission to LLB as the young generation will be moulded efficiently through practice, where the interest , more patience is required for the one to practice , if age limit is more it would be very difficult to start the practice at the higher age , and also it gives a wide scope and more chance for the youngsters to attach to the legal field and practice.

this age relaxation should also be given to the PBORs of defence and para military forces as per the GOI direction for jobs after discharge from service. so that they can have some technical education in their hands for their living after discharge from service. some time this type of education are is not acquired by the PBORs due to service exegencie.
